1900

A romantic heroine, who wears corsets and lives passionate loves. It's Anna Karenina, by Tolstoj. Keira Knightley is the one who now makes us dream, wearing furry hats, feathery stuff and gran soirée clothes.

Designers like Dolce & Gabbana have well understood this new trend, and actually their collection represents this need to go back to 1900. The dominant colours are black and gold (as you can tell from the picture below): this is an intro to Baroque, the art movement of the late 1500s to 1700s marked by ornate details and gilded, decorative motifs using textured fabrics like velvet and silk tapestries.

This trend fascinates me so much because it shows the importance of the past: we can always learn something from it and apply it to our present. This is a highly innovative collection in which the famous brand (D&G) tried to mix their views to the actual art movement and this led to the creation of a brand new style!
